Wayne Morris

August 28, 1952 — March 24, 2025

Harold Wayne Morris, 73, of Clarksville, Indiana, died peacefully at his home on Monday, March 24, 2025 after a brief illness. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on August 28, 1951, to the late Mildred and Maurice Morris. He was a retired driver for the Greater Clark County Schools in Clarksville and a member of Lexington Christian Church in Lexington, Indiana for over 15 years where he served as an Elder and Song Leader. He will forever be remembered as a jokester with a wonderful sense of humor, full of quick wit and comebacks.

Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Morris. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Tyler Morris, who took tremendous care of him in his final days, making sure he got all the care he needed until his final breath. He is also survived by a son, Harold (Hal) Wayne Morris II of Lexington, Kentucky; his loving daughter-in-law Lissa (Holland), who always made sure to have egg salad ready for his visits. Two of the brightest shining lights in his life were his grandsons, Samuel Edward and Joshua Len. No matter where it was, Wayne always made an effort to see his boys in whatever school activity or sport in which they were participating. It was always special when Papaw came in from out of town to them. He is also survived by his three step sons, Jimmy Tyler of Clarksville, Indiana, Jonathon Tyler and his wife Cindy of Beech Grove, Indiana and Jacob Tyler of Clarksville, Indiana.

Wayne also enjoyed singing karaoke and showing off his God-given ability to belt out a tune, especially his favorite band, The Beatles. And he, of course, loved cheering on his Kentucky Wildcats. He was able to listen to the Cats beat Illinois on Sunday and surely cheered them on from Heaven for the rest of the tournament.

Wayne is also survived by three sisters, Pat Dohoney of Louisville; Carol (Charlie) Strange of Louisville; and Edna Patterson of Olaton, Kentucky; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends
