Georgia Johnson-Hoaks

Georgia Johnson-Hoaks, 88, of Scipio passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Majestic Care in North Vernon. Born January 6, 1932 in Vallonia, Indiana she was the daughter of William Abraham and Alice (Lucas) Ault.
Georgia was a former member of the Cornerstone Church of God in Morocco, Indiana, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling and dancing.
She is survived by her children, Janet Johnson-Ross and her husband Larry of Seymour, Stephen Johnson and his wife Kathy of Rensselaer and Elverna Johnson-Cummings of Seymour; Eleven grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Warren Johnson whom she married in January of 1948 and who passed on January 23, 1967; her second husband John Hoaks, whom she married on June 27, 2009 and who passed October 18, 2012; her daughter Cheryl Moore; her stillborn son Lonnie Johnson; siblings, Delmer Ault, Sylvester “Raymond” Ault, Alvie Ault, Clifford Ault, Luella McCory and Ermina Reynolds; two grandsons Cole Cummings and Ryan Joseph Ross.
Pastor David Upchurch will conduct graveside services at 12:00PM Monday, June 1, 2020 at Dixon Chapel Cemetery. Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre have been entrusted with arrangements. Memorials can be given in memory of Georgia to her final expenses.
