Geneva E. Deitz, age 80 of Houston, passed away at 8:00am Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. Born June 4, 1936 in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was the daughter of Arvil and Martha (Carnathan) Ryan. On September 8, 1956 in Freetown, she married Paul E. Deitz.
Geneva was member Spraytown Free Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Freetown High School, worked at Marion Kay Spice where she made the silver coin clocks. She loved to crochet and watch Bill Elliott race in Nascar.
Geneva leaves behind her daughter, Debby Abel and her husband George of Houston; grandson, J.P. Von Fange; great grandchildren, Jacob and Bethany Von Fange; brother, Tom (Nora) Ryan of Illinois. Geneva also leaves behind Casey Jo, her beloved dog.
Geneva was preceded in death by her husband Paul who passed in September of 2015; parents; her son, Gary Deitz who passed in January of 2000; siblings, Eugene Ryan and Charles “Jack” Ryan.
Pastor Jerry Van Kuiken will conduct funeral services at 1:00pm on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre. Friends may call Monday from11:00am until 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Riverview Cemetery. Memorials can be made at the funeral home to the Spraytown Free Methodist Church.
