Gary Douglas "Cricket" Jamison, age 67, a native of Shelbyville, Kentucky and a resident of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on June 29, 1954 to the Gilbert "Dick" Jamison of Henryville, Indiana and the late Bertha (Kidwell) Parido.
He was a Christian by faith and served his Country proudly in the United States Army and was the owner pf Crickets Fencing for over 30 years. Cricket never met a stranger. He enjoyed having fun and making others laugh. He loved to fish, ride his
horse and camp. Sometimes, he even rode his horse to work. He was a master campfire chef and fed
anyone who visited his campsite. Cricket spent his working years driving a truck, working on the railroad,
building fences and raising livestock. In his free time, he helped with the 4-H livestock auction and
tinkered on his projects. He is best known for socializing and drinking coffee with friends.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Susan (Daugherty) Jamison of Scottsburg, Indiana. One daughter, Mary Jane McGarvey (Andrew) of New Albany, Indiana, one brother, Woodrow "Woody" Jamison (Nancy) of Seymour, Indiana, two sisters, Denise Shelton (Mary) of Jacksonville, Florida and Valenia (Chris) Liebe of Louisville, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his mother, step-mother, Carol Jamison and two brothers, Paul "David" Jamison and Michael Davis Jamison.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Christensen - Hoagland Family Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM with funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jim Hudson officiating.
