Eric Duane Cummings

Eric Duane Cummings, age 39, a native of Indianapolis, Indiana and a resident of Lafayette, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at his residence. He was born on March 12, 1984 to Angela (Cummings) McKnight and the late John Brumley. Eric was a Christian by faith. Eric was known as a fun loving, energetic, comical and stylish man that loved being silly and being the life of the party. He enjoyed driving, sound systems, rapping and often making up his own songs. Style was important to him and always put a lot of attention into his clothes and  shoes always making sure he looked "fresh".

He is survived by his mother, Angela (Cummings) McKnight and her husband Roy L. of Seymour, Indiana, one son, Caleb Cummings of Vallonia, Indiana and one daughter, Mylie Cummings of Vallonia, Indiana. One brother, Brandon L. McKnight of Seymour, Indiana. Two uncles, James Darrin Hess and Curtis Eversole. One aunt, Kim Hess Blaylock and her husband Mark. Paternal grandmother, Wanda Hess.  Cousins, Nick (Sarah) Hess, Heather Embry (RJ), Rocky Drake Jr., Craig Embry, Brian Embry, Trayton R. Hess, Dawson Hess, David Hess, Leland McKinney and many extended cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, three uncles, Steve Hess, David Brumley and David Duane Hess.. Maternal grandparents, James D. Hess and Paternal grandmother Laura Eversole. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Christensen Family Funeral Home, Seymour, Indiana from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 PM with Pastor John Gibson officiating.
