Ella Sizemore

Ella (Melton) Sizemore, age 70, a native of Floyd County, Kentucky and a resident of Austin, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 at The Waters of Scottsburg. She was born on July, 6, 1952 to the late Estill Melton and late Isabelle (Combs) Melton.

Ella was a Pentecostal by Faith and will be remembered as a sassy, tough lady that "said what she meant and meant what she said". She loved coloring, driving on road trips, shopping and was a huge Kentucky Wildcats Fan.

She is survived by her husband of over 58 years, Mitchell Sizemore of Austin, Indiana, five sons, Harrison Sizemore and his wife Tina of McKee, Kentucky, Will Sizemore of Austin, Indiana, Gilbert Sizemore and his wife Gladys of Austin, Indiana, McKenzie Sizemore and his wife Melanie of Versailles, Kentucky and Eric Sizemore and his wife Mandy of Austin, Indiana. Six daughters, Jettie Colwell and her husband Harold of Austin, Indiana, Jennifer Dixon of Hazard, Kentucky, Dulcena Bowling and her husband Charles of Austin, Indiana, Carol Mullins of Austin, Indiana, Virginia Sizemore of Austin, Indiana and Sayworth Lawless and her husband Lee of Austin, Indiana. Two brothers, Mike Sizemore of Austin, Indiana and Paul Sizemore of Austin, Indiana. Three sisters, Stella Hicks of Somerset, Kentucky, Polly Park and her husband Larry of Austin, Indiana and Faye Wooten of Blocher, Indiana. Twenty-seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Imogene Baker, Mollie Sue Melton and Melda Campbell.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday October 5, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Christensen - Hoagland Family Funeral Home. Visitation will resume of Thursday October 6, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jacob Howell officiating at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at New Providence Cemetery.
