Edward David "Dave" Allen

Edward David “Dave” Allen, age 75 of Freetown, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Born July 7, 1941 in Oil City, PA, he was the son of Edward F. and Levada (Douglas) Allen.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Diane Allen and second wife Judith Allen.

Dave graduated from Oil City High School in 1960 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He attended basic training and then Air Police school. He served in Washington, Arizona, Arkansas and in Germany and Libya. He worked as a military policeman until 1972 when he began working as a recruiter. He retired from the Air Force in October of 1984 as a Senior Master Sergeant.

Upon retirement, Dave spent the next 22 years as a realtor in Mesa, Arizona and surrounding area. He retired in 2007. In 2002, Dave was reunited with his high school sweetheart, Judy Craig, and on October 9, 2003, Dave was blessed to marry her. They were able to enjoy 11 years of marriage before her death on November 29, 2014.

Dave loved politics and was a devoted Republican and described himself as a conservative x 10. He was a great man with wit and personality who will be missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include his sons, Michael Allen and Kevin (Wendy) Allen; step daughter, Cher (Steve) Bevers a sister-in-law, Jane (David) Fletcher; niece Emily (Steven) Norman; nephew, Troy (Robin) Fletcher. His three grandchildren Josh Nicholas, Amber Sizemore and Payge Sizemore and one great grandchild. In his final months, Dave was very appreciative to his caregiver, Tracy Thomas.
