Dorothy Jean “Dottie” (Armstrong) Gardner, 69, of Seymour, Indiana passed away Wednesday September 7, 2016, at her residence.
Born September 26, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of Arthur Leo and Dolly Opal (Goodwin) Armstrong, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister Theresa Ross and brother’s Dave and Joe Armstrong.
Dottie and husband Walter owned and operated the Airport Café near Freeman Field for 10years. She had also worked at Gold Star Chili, and Speedway. Dottie was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed country music especially Alan Jackson and Elvis. Dottie also enjoyed shopping, her sister weekends and spending time with family.
Survivors include her husband Walter A. Gardner of Seymour, children Angel Whitaker (Jesse) of Cincinnati, David Armstrong (Julie) of Vallonia and A.J. Warner (Carla) of Seymour; her sisters, Patty Weaver, Fran Kemme (Paul) and Mary Helms all of Cincinnati; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 3:00pm on Monday September 12, 2016 at the Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre in Seymour. Visitation will be on Monday from 1:00pm until the service time at 3pm.
