Doris Jean (Compton) O'Neal

Doris Jean (Compton) O’Neal, age 94, a native and resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed from this life to Glory on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, Indiana. She was born on May 19, 1926 to the late Clyde Compton and the late Ethel (Henley) Compton.
Doris will forever be remembered as a loving, caring, Christian lady that loved her family and her church. She loved sewing, embroidery, reading and watching The Price is Right. She was an amazing cook and the family will forever treasure the memories of her no bake cookies, cheesecake and of course her famous chicken and dumplings.
Her walk with God meant everything to her. She was a faithful member of Seymour Christ Temple Apostolic Church for over 70 years of which her parents were founding members of. She loved teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. She was an amazing artist and her love for her church and art was shown by painting the mural over the church baptistry. Doris left a legacy not only in her family but in each life that she touched, each encouraging word she spoke and each special hug she gave.
She is survived by her Two daughters, Kay Robbins and her husband Jim of Commiskey, Indiana and Kellie McCullan her husband Bob of Hayden, Indiana. Three sons, Lanny O’Neal and his wife Sandra of Seymour, Indiana, Tim O’Neal and his wife Lori of Myrtle Beach, SC and Ronnie O’Neal of Seymour, Indiana. One sister, Shirley Sweasy of Columbus, Indiana.
Fifteen grandchildren, Ryan O’Neal, Lori O’Neal Barnett, Ginger O’Neal Troncone, Tara O’Neal Reed, Shannon O’Neal, Brandon O’Neal, Kayla O’Neal, Dustin O’Neal, Angela Robbins Doty, Amber Robbins, Ashley Robbins Wright, Derrick Robbins, Robert McClellan, Christy Frederick Jones and Bradley Frederick. 15 great grandchildren and numerous Great great Grandchildren.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of over 34 years, William O’Neal, one sister, Betty Compton Laraway and one brother, Robert Compton, one son, Larry O’Neal and one daughter Brenda Frederick.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 9, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Seymour Christ Temple Apostolic with Funeral Services beginning at 6:00 PM with Bishop Dennis Allman Sr. and Pastor Dennis Allman Jr officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour, Indiana.
