Dora Ruth Larison

Dora Ruth (Newsome) Larison went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 2, 2015. Born April 3, 1937 in Kona, KY, she was the daughter of Ben Newsome and Clady (Tackett) Newsome. On November 15, 1957, Dora became Mrs. James E. Arbuckle. They shared 20 years of marriage before his passing in 1977. On July 23, 1979, Dora married Donald D. Larison who passed away in November of 2004. Dora attended Bethany Baptist Church in Seymour. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. Dora is survived by a daughter, Katrenia Arbuckle Ogle and a granddaughter, Jaelyn Ruth Ogle both of Seymour; one brother, Ben Newsome Jr. (Ida) of Lexington, IN; 2 step daughters, Roberta (Bob) Kroger of Westport, IN and Donita (Mark) Nelson of Greenfield, IN; 10 step grandchildren and 9 step great-grandchildren, 4 nephews, and one niece. She was preceded in death by her parents and step mother, Marguerite McIntyre; husband James E. Arbuckle; 2nd husband Donald D. Larison; brother, Ernest L. Newsome; sister Deborah L. Bowling; and step daughter, Vicki L. Denney. Pastor John Moore will conduct funeral services at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 7th at the Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre at 311 Holiday Square Rd, Seymour, IN. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home and then on Tuesday from 10:00am until service time. Burial will follow services at the Scottsburg Cemetery.
