Donald Mccleery

Donald McCleery 83 of Seymour, IN passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour with his family by his side.

He was born on August 3, 1940, to Wayne and Beatrice Fleenor McCleery in Washington County, Indiana, and was raised in and around the Little York community in Scott County. He was happily married to his wife Jane for over 30 years, who precedes him in death. He was an army veteran of the Vietnam War, he retired from the Veterans Administration where he worked in electrical refrigeration. Also preceding him were his sisters, Sharon Allman and Anita Wilson; brothers, Bill McCleery and James Robert McCleery.

Survivors include his siblings, Ronald McCleery (Betty), Betty Lou Burris, and Karen Robinette (Rick); step-children, Rhonda Dunn, Brenda Dunn, James Spurgeon (Diane), Michele Resch (Peter), Daniel Powell (Theresa), Michael Powell, and Timothy Powell along with many nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Christensen Family Funeral Home - Seymour Chapel from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with services beginning at 7:00 PM. Pastor Scott Brown will officiate.

He will be laid to rest at Gator Cemetery.

The family requests donations be directed to Reddington Christian Church nursery project.
