Dianna R. Davis

Dianna Ruth (Medders) Davis, age 78, of Bethalto, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, October, 26, 2013 at Davis Elderly Care in Hanover. Born January 26, 1935 in Flaggler Beach, Florida, she was the daughter of James W. and Cloie (Hunter) Medders, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Driggers and Cloie Vaughan; three brothers, Billy, Virgil and Roland Medders and an infant grandson, Scott Johnson. Mrs. Davis was a home health care provider and took care of the elderly and foster children for over twenty years. In 1986 she started Davis Elderly Care. She moved from Florida to Indiana in the early 1970’s and then moved to Illinois in 1989. She enjoyed spending time with her children and family and also enjoyed fishing, camping, Conway Twitty music, garage sales and her Ziploc bag of coins. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Scottsburg, Indiana. Survivors include her husband, Leameal Junior “LJ” Davis whom she married on November 19, 1952; six daughters, Gail Johnson and her husband, Randy of Madison, Joanna Simpson and her husband, Kent of Hanover, Sylvia Jones and her husband, Danny of Scottsburg, IN, Jessica Therian and her husband, Brian of Edwardsville, IL, Randi Jo Davis of Ft. Wayne, IN and Jamie Davis of Bethalto, IL; four sons, Gerald Davis and his wife, Deena of Caseyville, IL, Lester Davis and his wife, Jackie of Ormond Beach, FL, Ricky Spindler and his wife, Shea of Champaign, IL and Justin Davis of Bethalto, IL; two sisters, Yvonne Queener of Cleveland, TN and Sylvia Bates of Ocoee, FL; one brother, Ellis Medders of Port Orange, FL; eighteen grandchildren, Todd, Robyn, Beka, Katilyn, Eli, Tyler, Ligia, Leameal, Diana, Jimmy, Jamie, Jessica, Wesley, Layla, Ben, Cameron, Ava and Gage; nineteen great-grandchildren, Titus, Katilyn, Hadassah, Makariah, Ariannah, Mikel, Leah, Micah, Daniel, Lucas, Rebecca, Autumn, Addison, Rebecca, Colton, Dominic, Jordan, Alexis and Riley and several nieces and nephews. Rev. Lester Davis and Rev. Ricky Spindler will conduct funeral services at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the Vail Funeral Chapel, 117 Holt Drive with interment in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Vail Funeral Chapel, 117 Holt Drive from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 29, 2013 and after 10:00 A.M. Wednesday until time of service.
