Destiny Skye Howard, age 23 of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016 in Seymour. Born October 29, 1992 in Seymour, she is the daughter of Alex Ray and Heather (Gee) Bowling. A 2011 graduate of Seymour High School, Destiny was active in pep rallies, Renaissance Club and she took pictures for the yearbook and enjoyed writing a column in the school newspaper. Destiny enjoyed photography, quilting, painting, singing and watching “Friends”. She enjoyed walking and exploring and she collected giraffes and had started mixing essential oils together to create her own scents. Destiny was about to launch her own blog “That Sassy Mom. Com”, which her family says was a spot on description of her. She was a strong believer in her faith and has always had a relationship with God. Her pride and joy for the last two years has been her daughter Tatum.
Destiny leaves behind her parents, Heather and Alex Bowling of Seymour; daughter, Tatum Ann Michelle; Tatum’s father and her fiancé Justin Smith of Seymour; siblings, Dakota (Matt) Lerza of Lexington, KY and their children Carsyn and Avett, Sheanna Bowling and her son Jace, Zachary Bowling, Olivia Brewer and Conner Howard; grandparents, Carol Gee of Seymour, Jeff & Donna Gee of Indianapolis, Linda & Jim Ayres of Seymour, Ken & Mary Bowling of Columbus, and Larry and Pat Howard of Seymour; Great-grandmother, Ruth Bowling of Hayden; Aunts & Uncles, Amber & Brent Turner, Allen Bowling, Brent & Jenny Terry, Aime & Jamie Caudill, Sara Beckley, Rhonda Sharp and Nicole & Jeff Lewis; also many cousins, Jocie, Lexi, Amanda, Sammi, Zach, Casey, Hannah, Kylen, Reagan, Jada, Payton, Taylor, Kylie, Maddie and Jacob. Destiny also leaves behind her extended family, Billy & Beth Smith and children, Laykyn, McKinlie, Cody and Taylor. Destiny will also be missed by her dog Pax.
She was preceded in death by her great- grandmothers, Clara Boyd, Josephine Hatfield and Evelyn Gee; Great-great Uncle, Lawrence Holle and Great Aunt Diana Phillips.
A Celebration of Life Services will be at 7:00pm on Monday March 21, 2016 at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre. Visitation will be on Monday at the funeral home from 2:00pm until the time of service at 7:00pm. A private family burial will be at a later date.
