Dennis Lee Barnes, age 79, was a native of Austin, Indiana and a resident of Seymour, Indiana. On Thursday, February 17, 2022, he let the whole world know that had an Address Change Notification. At 4:43 AM, at Schneck Medical Center, Dennis closed his eyes in Seymour, Indiana and opened them on the Sunny Banks of the Sweet By and By. He was born on May 5, 1942 to the late Ralph Barnes and the late Marie (Jewell) Barnes. "Do You Know The Lord"? that is the words that you would hear if Dennis was having a conversation with you, he wanted to make sure that you knew his Lord Jesus. Dennis was a 53 year member of The Tabernacle Church where he served as a former board member, teen Sunday School Teacher and orchestra member where he played the steel guitar. He was an employee of Cummins for over 40 years and a proud member of the United States Military. He enjoyed music, fishing, hunting, Louie Lamour books and above all his family. Dennis had the Ministry of Encouragement. He wanted to know how you were doing, putting his own afflictions aside and focusing on people, letting them know that they can make it. He was a kind, gentle man with a funny sense of humor that never sought the spotlight but thrived to work behind the scenes. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him and each life that he touched in his own special way.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of over 51 years, Vicki (Silence) Barnes of Seymour, Indiana, one daughter Tammy Montana and her husband Charles of Brownstown, Indiana.
