Delores Irene (Murphy) Potter

November 11, 1931 — October 3, 2024

Delores Irene (Murphy) Potter, age 92, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, departed this world peacefully on October 3, 2024, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Born on November 11, 1931, in Seymour, Indiana, Delores illuminated the lives of everyone she met with her kindness warmth.

Delores will be remembered as an angel among us, embodying a character that was as sweet as it was nurturing. Her devotion to family and friends was evident in all she did. A beloved daughter, sister, and grandmother, Delores carried the title of mother not just for her children, but for those who were fortunate enough to feel her love. Her proper demeanor and always put-together appearance were a reflection of her character; she was a model of grace and piety, always kind and loving.

Her passion for cooking, particularly her famous meatloaf and "Sids" casserole, delighted many around her. Home-cooked meals shared with loved ones were a source of joy, creating cherished memories that will forever linger in the hearts of her family. In her quiet moments, Delores found solace in reading her Bible and immersing herself in word puzzles, pursuits that spoke to her gentle spirit and love for learning.

Delores leaves behind her devoted daughter, Kathy Maegher of Lexington, Indiana, and her adoring grandchildren: Chris Hardin, Bill Hardin, Erin Kelley, Michael Meagher, Brad Meagher, and Nathan Meagher, along with eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves her brothers, Glenn Murphy of Seymour, Indiana, David Murphy and his wife Eileen of Jonesville, Indiana, and sisters, Evelyn Bowling and Sharon Canada, both of Seymour, Indiana.

She is reunited in heaven with her late husband and father of her children, William Meagher, and her second husband, S.G. Potter. Delores was also preceded in death by her son, Mike Meagher, and siblings Billie Lee Murphy, Jerry Murphy, Lois Brendle, and her great-grandson, Shane Kelley.

In keeping with her wishes, funeral services will be private for the family and she will be laid to rest at Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Indiana.

In our hearts, Delores Irene (Murphy) Potter will forever remain a beacon of love, compassion, and family devotion. Her legacy will continue to influence and inspire all who were privileged to call her their own.
