Della D. Jones

Della D. Jones, age 60 of Seymour, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Born July 20, 1958 in Berea, KY, she was the daughter of Raymond and Holly (Sizemore) Hensley. On August 26, 1977 in Seymour, she married Ray Jones, Jr.

Della had worked at the shoe factory in Crothersville, Dicksons and was a chairperson for the Pregnancy Care Center in Illinois. Together with her husband, they pastored at the Covenant Fellowship Church of God in Columbus along with several other churches in the past. She loved kids and babysat for numerous friends and family over the years. Della never knew a stranger and would talk to everyone she came in contact with. She loved being with family and her grandkids were her hobby.

Survivors include her husband Ray; daughters, Carolyn Dawn (Jason) Wilde of Brownstown and Holly Marie Jones of Indianapolis; step-mother, Miranda Dean of Seymour; in-laws, Ray & Carolyn Jones of Seymour; grandchildren, Tyler (Krystal Waggoner) Wilde, Lexus Wilde, Zoie Raylene and Malerie Jo Hendershot; siblings, Wanda (John) Carr of Linton, Sally (Tony) Root of Vallonia, Lois (Marty) Marshall of Uniontown and Laura (Charles) Wheeler of Brownstown; several nieces and nephews; Della was also expecting her first great-granddaughter Trinity Hope on December 20th.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pastor Jerry Ballard will conduct funeral services at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre in Seymour. Visitation will be from 11:00am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cana Cemetery in Uniontown. Memorials can be made at funeral home to the church.
