Debbie Morgan

Deborah R. Morgan, age 66 of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at her home with family at bedside. She was born on April 10, 1949 in Evansville, Indiana, the daughter of Raymond Riley and Martha (Goodson) Dollar. On June 10, 1967 in Fredonia, Indiana she married Ronald Morgan. A member of the First Nazarene Church in North Vernon, Debbie was active in many capacities. She was a member of the Bible Study Club, served on the kitchen committee, taught Sunday School for 32 years and volunteered at the church camp. She was retired from the Seymour Community School Corporation where she served at Emerson Elementary School as a cook and kitchen manager. She had the pleasure of cooking with Emeril Lagasse during his visit there. Debbie enjoyed sewing, quilting and cooking in her spare time as well as spending time with family and friends. She leaves behind her husband of 47 years, Ron; mother, Martha; daughters, Shiela Power and her husband Jason and Rhonda Mellencamp and her husband Michael; grandchildren, Morgan (Levi) Ross, Robert (Kristen) Ross, Bethany (JD) Willey, Grayson Mellencamp, Ryan Mellencamp, and Emma Mellencamp; also four great-grandchildren, JennieAnn Willey, Lela Willey, Taylor Ross and Abby Ross; sisters, Reba Roach and Shirley (Kevin) Hooker; two nieces, Kayla Hooker and Felicia Roach. Debbie was preceded in death by her father and several siblings. Pastors, Randy James and Caleb Williams will conduct funeral services at 11:00am on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre at 311 Holiday Sq. Rd. in Seymour. Visitation will be from 2:00pm until 6:00pm Sunday at Woodlawn and on Monday from 10:00am until service time. Burial will follow services at Riverview Cemetery. A reception will be held immediately following graveside services at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre. Those choosing to place a memorial in Debbie’s honor can do so at the funeral home to First Nazarene Church of North Vernon or to Immanuel Lutheran School.
