Darcy Kean Troville, age 77, a man of profound faith and unwavering devotion to his family, gently passed from this world into the eternal embrace of Jesus on March 26, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on June 23, 1947, in the heart of Burlington, Vermont, and for nearly eight decades, he sowed seeds of love, knowledge, and joy throughout his life.
A proud graduate of Rice Memorial High School in 1964, Darcy went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Theology from the esteemed halls of Notre Dame, where he cultivated his remarkable intellect and deep understanding of Religious and Church History. His fervor for learning was matched only by his passion for sharing that knowledge with others, especially those entering the Catholic Church. As a dedicated member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, he immersed himself in the music ministry, using his talents to uplift the spirits of his congregation and foster a sense of community.
Darcy was a pillar of support for his family, loving them dearly and encouraging their pursuits with boundless enthusiasm. He is survived by his cherished wife, Vivian Blanchard Troville, with whom he shared a profound bond for 36 years. Together, they celebrated the beauty of family life, enriched by the presence of their children: Jayson Troville, and his fiancé Sonia Banda-Law; Jonathan Troville, and his wife Hailey; Justin Troville; Andrea Troville, and her fiancé Jim Shea; and Emily Bramlett, and her husband Brad. Each child carries a piece of Darcy’s spirit within them, a legacy of love that will endure through the generations.
The warmth of his family extends to six grandchildren—Kayla, Madison, Mikey, Dominic, Devon, and Eden—along with three beloved great-grandchildren, Ellie, Evelynn, and Emilia. He was not merely a grandfather; he was a storyteller, a mentor, and a hero in their eyes, shaping their lives with wisdom and affection.
Darcy’s life was rich with hobbies that reflected his zest for life. He cherished serving in his church community, where he found fulfillment in guiding others on their spiritual journeys. A lover of sports, he enthusiastically cheered for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and found joy in the thrills of basketball and skiing. The camaraderie he felt while spectating, coupled with the excitement of competition, filled his soul with joy that he shared readily with those around him.
His curiosity knew no bounds; Darcy was a reservoir of knowledge, endlessly intrigued by the world and all its wonders. He served his country valiantly in the United States Army Reserves, showcasing his dedication to serving others both in his military endeavors and his life’s work.
He leaves behind a brother, Tom Troville of Nashua, New Hampshire, and a sister, Mona Troville of Louisville, Tennessee, along with a legacy marked by compassion, generosity, and deep-seated values imparted by his parents, George Richard and Theresa Gelineau Richard, who predeceased him.
As we gather to honor a life well-lived, the memory of Darcy Kean Troville will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
