Dale B. Taylor

Dale B. Taylor, age 90 of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Waters of Clifty Falls. Born December 28, 1923, in Trimble County, Kentucky, he was the son of Daniel Boone and Anna Laura (Mosgrove) Taylor who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen (Clements) Taylor on September 29, 1995; two sisters, Lois Wright and her husband, Lec and Doris Callihan and her husband, Ralph; one brother, Keith Taylor and his wife, Della and a brother-in-law, Carl F. Imel. Mr. Taylor’s family moved to Jefferson County in 1937. He attended Brooksburg Elementary School then graduated from Madison High School in 1943. In May 1944 he entered the U.S Navy serving until May 1946. He was a World War II veteran. He married Kathleen Clements June 1946. They were farmers together for many years near Brooksburg. Dale was a member of the Brooksburg Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed the friendship and fellowship there. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #9 and enjoyed sports, pitch-in dinners, family get-to-togethers, traveling to Florida and camping. Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue Demaree Taylor; three step-daughters, Charlotte Conrad, Cindy Demaree and Susan Buchanan all of Madison; one sister, Patty Taylor Imel of Madison; three step-grandsons; two sister-in-laws, Mary L. Giltner Ginn and Corrine Clements both of Madison; four nieces, Janice Wright of Trimble Co., KY and Laura N. Denning and her husband, Lee of Madison, Charlene O’Connell of Madison and Cindy Edwards of Florida; six nephews, Kim D. Imel, Rick L. Imel and his wife, Marilyn, Rodney Dale Imel all of Madison, Ted Taylor, Dan Callihan and Craig Callihan all of Kentucky; two great-nephews, Christopher Imel and Travis Imel both of Madison. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Vail Funeral Chapel, 117 Holt Drive with interment in Brooksburg Cemetery. The Honor Guard of the American Legion Post #9 will conduct military graveside services. Family and friends may call at the Vail Funeral Chapel, 117 Holt Drive from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, February 7, 2014 and from 10:00 A.M. Saturday until time of service. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Brooksburg Baptist Church or the Calvary Baptist Church. Contribution cards will be available at the Vail Funeral Chapel.
