Dale B. Lupton

Dale B. Lupton, age 86 of Seymour and formerly of Wheelersburg, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 29th at home. Born May 28, 1928 in Washington, Iowa, he was the son of LaVerne and Verna (Barnett) Lupton. In 1948 in Louisville, he married Irene Warren. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. While at Georgia Tech, he played basketball, football and track. Retiring in 1990 as an engineer, Dale moved to Seymour with his wife in 2002 and became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was formerly a member of the Wheelersburg Baptist Church. A man who loved to share his faith, Dale would purchase bibles and donate to prisoners. He would also write letters to others as a way of encouragement. Dale was a volunteer at the Jackson County Library as a math tutor. Survivors include three daughters, Pat (Bill) Dail of Ashland, KY, Susie Grelle of Seymour and Becky (Tom) Williams of Muncie; Also eight grandchildren, Christal LaMaster, Dusty Grelle, Brandon (Rachel) Grelle, Michael (Jessica) Grelle, Lydia Williams, Abbie Williams, Kara Williams and Hannah Williams; Dale also had two great grandchildren, Paige and Jackson and a sister in law, Marge Lupton. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 54 years, a son, Steve and a brother John. A memorial service will be held at a future date at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg, Ohio. Memorials can be made to the Hospice of Schneck Medical Center, Immanuel Luther Church or to Trinity Lutheran Church of Crown Point to their Awestruck Experience Fund.
