Clifford Fried

Clifford Fried, age 81, a native of Detroit, Michigan and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Covered Bridge Health Campus. He was born on April 19, 1942 to the late Matthew Fried and the late Sheila (Turner) Fried. He was a Research Scientist and had his Masters Degree in Biology from UCLA. Clifford will forever be remembered as a kind, loving, hard working, calm selfless man that was always willing to help. He was a known activist and Past President of UPTE for many years, fighting for teachers rights. He was also a very proud Girl Scout Dad. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed dancing and loved his grandchildren dearly. Clifford would never say goodbye to anyone, it was always "over and out" or "may the force be with you" as he was a huge Star Wars fan.

He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Donna M. (Robertson) Fried, three daughters, Nikki Contini and her husband Victor of California, Lauren Morris and her spouse, Melissa of Seymour, Indiana and Jessica Signor and her husband Edwin of California. 

One brother, Richard Fried and his spouse Norm Pouilot of California and one sister, Leslie Saller and her husband Robert. Nine grandchildren, Joshua, James, Samantha, Madison, Jada, Tyler, David, Savannah and Faye.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home in Seymour, Indiana. Services will begin at 1:00 PM.
