Charles Eugene Derringer Sr., a man of quiet resolve and a willingness to speak his mind, passed away on February 23, 2025, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on April 27, 1942, in Austin, Indiana, Charles lived a life marked by both dedication and passion.

He served honorably in the United States Army, showcasing his commitment to his country. A gentle soul with a mild-mannered approach to life, Charles found joy in the simple pleasures, often enjoying time spent watching "Gunsmoke" and shows on TV Land.

Charles is survived by his loving family, which includes his sons, Charles Derringer Jr. of Florida, Steven Derringer of Florida, and Henderson Derringer of Florida, as well as his daughter, April Shuler of North Carolina. He is also survived by his brother, Earl Derringer of Seymour, Indiana, and his half-sister, Kathy Sebastian of Scottsburg, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl S. Derringer, and his mother, Alma Lee Derringer. Charles also mourned the loss of his sisters Wilma Lee, Juanita, and Earleen Derringer, along with his half-sister Jackie Morris, and brothers Richard, Daniel, and Ricky Derringer.

Charles Eugene Derringer Sr. will be remembered for his soft-spoken nature, and the love he shared with his family and friends throughout his life. His legacy lives on through those he leaves behind.
