Carol Jean Hensley

Carol Jean (Myers) Hensley, age 85, a native of Seymour, Indiana and a resident of Brownstown, Indiana, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at her residence. She was born on August 11, 1935 to Carl Myers and Dessie (Terry) Myers. Carol grew up on a farm where she learned to love horses, dogs, cats and other animals. Strong-willed and only a little competitive, she enjoyed a god game of cards with her grandchildren as much a good mystery novel or western. Her favorite hobbies were bargain hunting at flea markets or yard sales, attending local festivals like Fort Vallonia Days and visiting her father’s childhood home, Myers Cabin at Muscatatuck Wildlife Refuge.

Carol is survived by his her two daughters, Joy (Miskell) Ray and her husband Tony of Seymour, Indiana and Cheri (Miskell) Scott of Brownstown, Indiana. One sister, Joyce (Myers) Prange. One daughter in law, Teresa (Shaw) Miskell. Nine grandchildren, Jodi Miskell of Phoenix, AZ, Shawn Miskell and his wife Samantha of Seymour, Indiana, Logan Ray and his wife Courtney of Seymour, Indiana, Lacey Willis and her husband Ray of Seymour, Indiana, Anna Shaw of Montgomery, Alabama, Brian Miskell of Wetumpka, Alabama, Christopher Miskell and his wife Courtney, David Miskell and his wife Katie of California and Keith Miskell of Wetumpka, Alabama.

She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren, Payton, Haley and Keigan Miskell, Karcynn, Coltlynn, Alexandria and Barrett Ray, Aidain, Audrey, Adelaide and Alexandre Willis, Victoria, Alanna, Zara and Riley Miskell, Asher and Mateo Miskell as well as two geat great grandchildren, Ashanti and Armoni Shaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Robert Myers and a sister, Kathryn (Myers) Campbell. Two sons, Mike Miskell and Rick Miskell and a grandson, Steven Miskell.

Private family services will be held at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour, Indiana.
