Carol Jeanette Gee, 78, of Seymour, passed away peacefully on March 14th, 2025 with her loving family by her side. Born on December 5th, 1946, in Seymour, Carol was a beacon of warmth and generosity, touching countless lives with her kindness, selflessness, and quiet strength. She gave wholeheartedly and left a lasting imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A graduate of Prince George High School in Prince George, Virginia, Carol was both a military child and a military wife, experiences that shaped her resilience and compassionate spirit. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was baptized and remained deeply connected to her faith, finding comfort and strength in her beliefs throughout every stage of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Mitchell Boyd of Seymour; her sister, Diana Phillips of Hayden; her beloved granddaughter, Destiny Howard, 23, of Seymour; her uncle, Lawrence Holle of Waymansville; and her best friend, Beverly Roberts of Seymour.
Carol had a passion for baking, owning and operating her own bakery, fondly remembered as Grandma Carol’s Bakery and Deli, for over four years, where she became locally famous for her sugar cream pies, homemade chicken and noodles, and potato soup. She was an active member of her community, dedicating her time to the Seymour Community Center, the Meals on Wheels program, and serving as president of the 107 Club.
A woman of many talents, Carol was an avid card player, enjoying Hand and Foot and Euchre. She loved reading novels, crocheting, and singing along to Neil Diamond. Her hands were always busy creating, from floral arrangements and cakes entered in local fair contests to hundreds of handmade hats donated to various organizations, such as United Way, Schneck Medical Center, and Seymour Community Schools.
Carol was known for her selflessness and generosity - an angel in human form. Her family knew her as a walking miracle, a true fighter who defied odds time and time again. She faced four close calls throughout her life, each one testing her strength, but she always came back stronger and more determined. Her resilience was nothing short of inspiring, a testament to her unwavering will and the deep love she had for those around her to keep going.
She is survived in death by her daughters, Heather (Alex) Bowling and Amber (Brent) Turner; her siblings Gordon (Peggy) Boyd, Connie Dingess, and Tim (Teresa) Boyd; her grandchildren Dakota (Matt) Lerza, Sheanna (Caleb) Bowling, Zachary (Kaitlyn) Bowling, Amanda McKinney, Samantha Turner, Jocie Turner, and Lexi Turner; and her great grandchildren Tatum, Carsyn, Avett, Maxli, Parqer, Jace, Kamdon, Ryder, Hendrix, and Cooper.
Her warm spirit and giving heart made an impact on everyone she met, and she will be dearly missed. Carol’s legacy of love, kindness, and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
