Bobby J. Cox

Bobby J. Cox, age 62 of Medora, passed away on Friday, March 18th at Schneck Medical Center. Born April 28, 1953 in Seymour, he was the son of Edgar Ray and Sarah Ethel (Wise) Cox. On November 4, 1972, he married Patricia Weddle at the Kurtz Church of the Nazarene.
He was a member of the Heltonville Methodist Church. He had worked the last 20 years at Valeo and had worked as a self-employed mechanic. Bobby enjoyed working on cars as well as fishing and riding motorcycle. He also enjoyed driving and working on his tractor, which is how he and Patti started dating. His family remembers him most as someone who liked to help people and who loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Patti; son, Rob Cox of Medora; daughter, Shannon (Bobby) Skaggs of Brownstown; a grandson, who was more of a son, Robert Joshua (Shayna) Cox; grandchildren, Alexandria (Darren) Burnside of Freetown, Harley (Michael) Cox of Edinburgh, Justice Skaggs and Haven Skaggs of Brownstown; great-grandchildren, Penelope Grace and Ainslee Michelle; Siblings, Edna Akers of Seymour, Don (Audrey) Cox of Columbus, Doris (Cecil) Key of Columbus, Sandra (Gordon) Lambert of Scipio, and Denise Lee of Seymour.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Charles Cox, Linda Eggersman, Nancy Collier, and Sharon Smallwood.

Services for Bobby will be held at the Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre in Seymour at 1:00pm on Thursday, March 24th. Visitation will be from 4:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday and then Thursday from noon until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Kurtz Cemetery.
