Billie Dale Carpenter, age 62, a resident of Seymour, Indiana was born on April 9, 1962, in St. Francis, Kansas, left this world on September 14, 2024, at The Willows of Greensburg. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.
A proud graduate of St. Francis High School in 1980, Billie carried the values he learned throughout his life. His faith as a Methodist provided him with a strong foundation, guiding him through both joys and challenges. He was a big teddy bear—a nickname for his gentle and kind-hearted nature.
Billie had a passion for grilling that brought family and friends together, sharing laughter and joy over delicious meals he crafted. His talent in the kitchen extended to creating new dishes, a delightful surprise for all those lucky enough to partake. Beyond the grill, he loved to tinker in his garage, finding satisfaction in building and fixing, letting his creativity flow through every project.
As a truck driver, Billie enjoyed the open road, the thrill of discovering new sights, and the stories he would bring back to share. His deep love for animals demonstrated his nurturing spirit, revealing a man who understood the quiet joys of companionship.
He is survived by his wife, Lavelle (Coates) Carpenter of Seymour, Indiana, who stood by him through thick and thin. He leaves behind his children: Justin Carpenter of Wyoming, Jade Carpenter of New York, Joshua Carpenter of Kansas, and Leray Carpenter of Colorado, along with his stepchildren, Sarah Geise of North Vernon and Stevy Geise. Billie also cherished his role as a grandfather to numerous grandchildren.
His memory will be lovingly held by his sister, Connie Hayes of Kansas, and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, all of whom were fortunate enough to experience his kind heart firsthand.
He now joins his parents, Bill Carpenter and Dorothy (Carmichael) Carpenter, as well as his sister Corine Carpenter, in eternal rest.
Billie Dale Carpenter will forever be remembered for his gentle spirit, knack for storytelling, and the generous love he shared with those around him. His legacy will continue to inspire and nurture the hearts of his family and friends, reminding them always of the beautiful moments they shared together.
The family has chosen cremation and no services will be held at this time.
