Beverly C. Ackeret, age 74 of Seymour, passed away on Monday September 22, 2014 at the Lutheran Community Home. Born March 29, 1940 in Medora, she was the daughter of Ralph and Flora (Myers) McClintock. On December 24, 1958 in Seymour, she married John Ackeret. Before retiring, Beverly worked at Cummins Engine Company in the accounts payable department. She also worked part time after retiring at Russell Stovers and volunteered at the Schneck Medical Center gift shop. Beverly was a member of Central Christian Church where she volunteered in several areas and was also active in the choir and ladies bibles studies. Beverly was also instrumental in the forming of a local girls softball league. She also volunteered as a chairman for the Relay for Life. Beverly enjoyed reading, traveling, going to the beach, gardening and to bet the ponies and slots. She enjoyed traveling to watch IU Basketball and enjoyed watching the Colts. One of her biggest joys was to spend time with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include the father of her children, John; four daughters, Tammrae McMahon of Seymour, Carol (Tony) McKinney of Seymour, Michelle (Danny) Workman of Versailles, KY and Karen (Pam Breeden) Ackeret of Bloomington. Grandchildren, Kent (Chelsea) McMahon, Nick (Lauren) McMahon, Kristin (Brian) Bear, Alison (Josh Daniel) McKinney, Zachary Wade and Jessika (Jonathan) Kelley. Great-grandchildren are Haydn McMahon, Riley Bear, Reece Daniel McKinney, Calvin Creech, Abigail Kelley, Luke Kelley and was soon to add another great-granddaughter. Beverly is also survived by three brothers, Bill (Eva) McClintock, Jack (Lora) McClintock and Jerry (Mary) McClintock; as well as several nieces and nephews. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; brother Bob McClintock; sisters, Wanda Sage, Vivian Messer, Betty Deloach, Jeannie Temple and Patricia Holcomb. Services will be at 1:00pm Saturday, September 27th at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre at 311 Holiday Sq. Rd. in Seymour. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home as well as Saturday from 12:00pm until 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
