Betty S. Mousa

Betty S. Mousa, age 87 of Seymour, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Covered Bridge Health Campus. Born in Lawrence County, Indiana November 7, 1929, she was preceded in death by her two loving and special parents, her father, Richard Mundy and her mother, Susie (Sherfick) Mundy. She married the best man we ever knew, Roger Mousa, on September 30, 1950 and they shared 55 years together before he passed on January 16, 2006.
Roger and Betty were both loving parents to Rick (Leonna) Mousa of Snellville, GA, Dan (Anna) Mousa and Jane Owens both of Seymour. She was blessed with six grandchildren, Adam (Megan) Mousa, Ana Mousa, Jacob Henley, Brandon Henley, Brian (Christy) Mousa and Brad Mousa; great-grandchildren, Carter, Paisley, Hattie, Remi, Colin and Katherine. She considered two others like daughters, her neighbor Tina Wetzel and Jane’s good friend, Cindy Hauersperger. She was like a mother to both of them. She was also a special aunt to Donna Brackemyre.
Betty was a housewife, mother, mamaw, great mamaw, sister, aunt and friend to many people. She lived her life to the fullest until the very end. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She was a member of the Seymour Christian Church. She enjoyed Bingo and playing cards with her friends of 50+ years. Her house was always spotless and clothes for her and family always neat and clean. She made the best chili on the planet. She enjoyed telling jokes and laughing with family and friends. We will love her and miss her every day. She knew we loved her and were proud she was our Mom. She was able to live at home until early this year when health issues forced her to move to the Covered Bridge Nursing Facility. Our family gives a special thanks to all those at Covered Bridge who cared and loved our Mom.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Wilfred and Charlie Mundy; sister, Irene Hall and son-in-law, Myron “Turtle” Owens.
Pastor Bill Lockman will conduct funeral services at 11:00am on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and from 10:00am Thursday until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Riverview Cemetery.
