Betty Jean Haws

Betty Jean (Richardson) Haws, age 75 of Seymour, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at her son's home in Jonesville. Born June 18, 1937 in Taylorsville, KY, Betty was the daughter of Leslie and Sarah Alice "Whitehouse" Richardson. Loving to cook, Betty worked at The Townhouse in Seymour for over 15 years with her friend and sister-in-law, Connie Stockover. She was a former member of the American Legion and New Life Assembly. Betty loved her flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed crocheting, crafting and spending time with her grandkids. Survivors include her son Roger D. Haws of Jonesville, her daughter Kimela S. Taylor and her husband Doug of Seymour. Betty's five grandchildren were Richard Keck, Robert (Sheila) Haws, William (Amanda) Haws, Anthony (Robin) Taylor and Daniel Taylor. She also had 10 great grandchildren, Cody, Aarin and Matheu Matthews, Justin and Kienan Joy, Elijah Haws, John Abbott, Addison Taylor, Isaiah Holland and Aubree K. Elizabeth Barnes. Betty is also survived by one brother, Leslie Richardson and three sisters, Belva (Eric) Sage, Margie (Bobby) Troxell and Lora (Jack) McClintock. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, brother Carl Thomas Richardson and sister Hallie Mae Turner. Cremation has been chosen and the family will have a memorial service later in the year. Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorials can be made to the Hospice of Schneck Medical Center in care of the funeral home at 612 Meadowbrook Drive, Seymour, IN 47274.
