Betty Jean Donahue, age 94 of Brownstown, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Schneck Medical Center. Born September 7, 1922 in Seymour, she was the daughter of Robert F. Donahue and Goldie (Gray) Donahue Fields. Jean was raised by her grandparents, James C. and Ethel Gray.
Jean was retired having worked as a registered Nurse. She was a member of the Brownstown Christian Church as well as the American Nurses Association, Esther Circle, Brownstown Christian Circle and Jackson County Christian Women’s Fellowship.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews to include niece Sharon (Dean) Yost of Freetown who were her caregivers. Jean was preceded in death by her grandparents and parents; brothers, Robert G. Donahue, James E. Fields and Homer D. Fields; sisters, Ruby June Donahue, Bonnie Maples and Shirley Reynolds.
Services will be on Wednesday at 11:00am at the church followed by burial at the Freetown Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 9th from 3:00pm to 7:00pm and Wednesday from 10:00am until service time at Freetown Church of Christ at 7077 N St Rd 135. Memorials can be made to the Freetown Improvement Association for adding street lights. Woodlawn Freetown Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
