Betty Anna Ellis

Betty Anna Ellis, 88 of Crothersville, passed away in her home on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. She was born October 13, 1930, in Union City, Ohio, the daughter of the late Leroy and Anna Fae (Turner) Teegarden.
Betty married Richard Rolland Ellis on December 25, 1946, in Greenfield, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1997.
Betty was a long-time member and Deaconess at New Life Assembly of God where she served as President of Women’s Ministry until her health no longer permitted it. She received her Associates Degree in Grapho Analysis which is the study of handwriting. She was also an ordained Minister through the Church of Faith. Betty was known for many years as the Girl Scouts of Jackson County’s “Grandma”. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing and was a published poet. Her greatest attribute was being a loving mother and homemaker to her large family.
She is survived by her children, Anna (Lloyd) McDonald, James (Trina) Ellis, Kathryn (Arlo) McKillip, Carolyn Begley, Michael (Nancy) Ellis and Sandra (Michael) Wray; 19 grandchildren, over 40 great-grandchildren, at least 4 great-great grandchildren, two sisters, Donna Zehner and Doris “Jane” Fike, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, Leroy Teegarden, Jr. Marvin Teegarden, Joseph Richey and Charlie Richey; and one sister, Idella Richey.
A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held Friday, February 15, 2019, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with visitation and viewing at Winklepleck & Brock Funeral Home in Brownstown.
Memorials may be made to the New Life Assembly of God’s Women’s Ministry and Rosebud Indian Reservation, South Dakota.
