Avis "Tag" Wingler

Avis “Tag” Wingler, age 83, a native of Vallonia, Indiana and a resident of Norman, Indiana, passed away on December 16, 2020 at his residence. He was the son of the late John Wingler and the late Frances Hattabaugh Wingler.

Known as “Tag”, he will always be remembered as a man that was direct and to the point. He has a servant’s heart and would help anyone that needed him. He loved small engine repair and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife Shirley Nolan Wingler of Norman, Indiana, three sons, Avis Wingler and his wife Christina of Freetown, Indiana, Larry Wayne Wingler and his wife Tonya of Haleysburg, Indiana and Darryl Wingler of Bloomington, Indiana. One daughter, Etta Kathleen Beaty of Seymour, Indiana. Six grandchildren and 14 great grand children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ernest Wingler, Roscoe Wingler and Darryl Wingler. Four sisters, Redith Burns, Masil Martin, Connie Benton and Ruby Shearer.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre in Seymour, Indiana. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at Vallonia Cemetery.

Due to COVID restrictions, attendance occupancy is limited to 25 persons. Those who are unable to attend are invited to view services live streamed on the Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre facebook page.
