Allen E Mitchell

Allen E. Mitchell, age 94 of Brownstown, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at his residence. Born January 26, 1921 in Seymour, he was the son of William and Edith (Kaufman) Mitchell. Allen served in the United States Army from June 1942 to December 1945. He worked most of his life as a farmer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to auctions, being around cars and talking to different people. Survivors include his brother, Don Mitchell and sister, Margaret Sullivan. Allen also had several nieces and nephews who survive. Allen was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold Mitchell, Virgil Mitchell, and Bob Mitchell. Visitation will be on Friday, September 11th from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the Woodlawn Freetown Funeral Chapel. Service will be at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at 4:00pm Friday at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison with full military honors.
