Alicia Montejo, age 86 of Seymour, passed away on Friday August 4, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. Born November 2, 1930 in Colima Mexico, she was the daughter of Enrique Pineda and Esperanza Alcantar Santoyo.
Alicia enjoyed knitting, gardening and taking care of her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook, always making homemade tortillas with butter. Alicia will always be remembered dancing and singing around the house. She was a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband Jorge Montejo, whom she married March 10, 1962; children; Arturo Montejo of Seymour, Maria (Keith) Camp of Seymour, Lourdes (Javier) Mendoza of Indianapolis, and James Montejo of Azusa, California; her sisters, Delia Diaz Alcantar, Maria del Carmen Alcantar, Maria Luisa Alcantar and Concepcion Rivera Alcantar; Eleven grandchildren; Six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Esperanza Rivera Alcantar.
Father Dan Staublin will conduct services at 1:00 PM, Monday August 7, 2017 at the Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre. Visitation will be Monday after 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon after services at the Cornerstone Community Church, 1088 Sarasota Drive.
