Margaret Ann Lambring

June 18, 1924 — February 7, 2018

Margaret Lambring, age 93, of Brownstown, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Schneck Medical Center. She was born June 18, 1924 in the Sauers community in Jackson County. She was the fifth child born to the late Martin and Katie Christophel Sierp. Margaret was raised in the Sauers community and confirmed at St. John's Sauers Lutheran Church.

On Easter, April 25, 1943, Margaret was married to Amos Lambring at St. John's Sauers Lutheran Church by the Rev. J. T. Destinon. Margaret and Amos became the parents of two children, Ron (Nancy) Lambring of Brownstown, Indiana and Carol (John) Darring of Benicia, California. Margaret was also the proud grandmother of one granddaughter, Stephanie West Lambring of Nashville, Tennessee.

Margaret's primary job was taking care of her family as a wife, mother and grandmother. She was also employed outside of the home in various other positions over the years, including at Schneck Medical Center, as manager of the Brownstown License Branch and at the Morgan canning factory.

Church, family and friends have always been the most important parts of Margaret's life. After her marriage she and Amos became long time members of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Brownstown. They were founding members of the Fellowship Club and Margaret was an active member of Ladies' Aid, where she chaired the funeral committee for 18 years and provided food and encouragement by visiting the sick and shut-ins of the congregation for many years.

Margaret led an active lifestyle with many interests and talents. She was a member of several card clubs, enjoyed quilting, gardening, crocheting and ceramics, was known for her beautiful flowers and garden and especially her cooking skills. She looked forward to participating in the Jackson County Fair each summer, often winning prizes for her baking, plants and antiques. One of her honors was being featured as Cook of the Week by local press. She also enjoyed following the musical career of her granddaughter, Stephanie, spending many weekends at country music venues in Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Katie Sierp, her husband of nearly 48 years, Amos Lambring, sisters Esther Topie and Mildred Hall and brother Herbert Sierp. She is survived by her brother, Clifford "Kip" Sierp, son Ron (Nancy) Lambring, daughter Carol (John) Darring, granddaughter Stephanie Lambring and numerous nieces and nephews.
