Jack Hurt

Jack Hurt, age 73 of Madison, passed away on August 1, 2014 at The Waters of Clifty Falls. Born December 23, 1940 in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of Isaac and Ella Mae (Bell) Hurt. On November 4, 1970 in Lexington, Kentucky, Jack married Deloris Louden. Jack worked at the Pearl Packing Company in Madison for several years before working and later retiring from the M&T Chemical Company in Carrollton. He was an active member of the Madison Calvary Wesleyan Church. Jack was an avid golfer and also enjoyed fishing. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Deloris; two sons, Tim McManus of Madison, Rev. Mark (Christie) Hurt of Evansville; one daughter, Betty Lou (Jim) Louden-Miller of Union City, TN. Jack also has two brothers, Michael (Paula) Wood and Allen (Marsha) Wood; also nine grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Penny Wood, a brother, Cliff Hurt and a sister, Marsha Wood. Brother Monty Mahoney will conduct funeral services 11:00am on Tuesday, August 5th at the Woodlawn-Vail Funeral Chapel at 117 Holt Drive in Madison. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at the Moffett Cemetery in Milton.
