Doris Lydia Vanderwill

Doris Lydia Koch VanDerwill, age 95, a native of Ann Arbor, Michigan and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour, Indiana.

She was the daughter of the late Otto Koch and the late Lydia Schnierle Koch. Prior to moving to Seymour, Indiana, Doris served for many years as the Deputy City Clerk and as a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was a very creative lady that loved arts and crafts. She loved travelling, playing jokes on people, was highly sociable and never met a stranger. Doris was a true Michigan sports fan. The family will always remember her as an excellent cook with some of her specialties being rhubarb pie, beef stroganoff and Mexican food. Above all, nothing compared to the love she had for her family.

Doris is survived by her two daughters, Cathy Spano and her husband Peter of Gulf Stream, Florida and Christine Brazier and her husband Philip of Seymour, Indiana. She is also survived by one grandson, Andrew Spano.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of over 44 years, C. Wayne VanDerwill.

Memorial Services will be scheduled for the spring at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Family and friends are invited to leave condolence messages as well as check on updated service information at www.woodlawnfamilyfuneral.com
