Debra Gay (Lee) Baxter

October 23, 1959 — March 30, 2022

Debra Gay (Lee) Baxter, age 62, a native of Lansing, Michigan and a resident of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Baptist Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on October 23, 1959 to the late Billy Wayne Lee and the late Mildred (Miller) Roberts. She was a member of Elevation Church. Debra will forever be remembered as a kind hearted, wonderful lady that loved her family dearly. She loved playing cards, especially rummy and canasta. She loved her nieces and nephews and was the "crazy fun aunt" to them. She was a wonderful cook with good old fashioned foods like pinto beans, fried potatoes and corn bread. She is survived by her husband of over sixteen years, Carl Baxter of Scottsburg, Indiana, one son, Jordan Tyler Baxter and his wife Brandy of Scottsburg, Indiana, one daughter Christina McCulloch of Scottsburg, Indiana.
Five sisters, Faye Whittaker and her husband Garrick of Valparaiso, Indiana, Molly Hunt of Scottsburg, Indiana, Joyce Hinsley and her husband Rick of Wheatfield, Indiana, Tina Freeman and her husband Don of Hebron, Indiana and Fayth Armstrong and her husband Danny of Lowell, Indiana. Three grandchildren, Carson Baxter, Makenna Baxter and Kenzlee Baxter.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William Lee.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Elevation church in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor Gary Scatterly officiating.
