Albert Duchaine

Albert Duchaine, age 94, a native if Fall River, Massachusetts and a resident of Freetown, Indiana, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Seymour Crossing. He was born on September 13, 1927 to the late Anthony Duchaine and the late Mary (Olivera) Duchaine. Albert was a Catholic by Faith and served his Country proudly in the Unites States Military. He was a manager and meat cutter at Jay C Food Stores for over 30 years. Albert will forever be remembered as a perfectionist that was strict and always meant what he said. He was kind hearted and loved children dearly. One time he made a homemade putt putt course for the neighborhood children and enjoyed hosting tournaments. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, coin collecting, woodworking, working in the yard and mowing. He also enjoyed WWE wrestling and John Wayne movies.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 70 years, Freida (Spurgeon) Duchaine of Freetown, Indiana, Two sons, Joe Duchaine of Shelbyville, Indiana and Dave Duchaine and his wife Jerri of Seymour, Indiana. One daughter, Lou Ann Grubb and her husband Tony of Montgomery, Alabama. One grandson who was the absolute twinkle in his eyes, Matthew Duchaine and three step-granddaughters and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Edward Duchaine and three sisters, Rose Barlow, Teresa Campos and Laura Lee Draper.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home with a Sunset Celebration of Life Service to begin at 6:00 PM with Pastor Jim Hudson officiating.
The family requests that memorial donations be directed to the Freetown Improvement Association, Pershing Township Volunteer Fire Department of the Charity of their choice,
